At their weekly Sale John Swan Ltd had forward 69 Spring Lambs, 1369 Hoggs and 251 Ewes. Sheep all sold at well increased prices, with Lambs and Hoggs selling at exceptional rates on the week.

Lambs sold to £92 per head (2) for 3 Suff Lambs scaling 52kgs from Lilburn Estates, Roseden and for 2 Suff scaling 51kgs from East Learmouth and 204.9p per kilo for 12 Char.x scaling 41kgs realising £84 from J V Lindsay & Partners, Cornhill Farm. To average 195p per kilo.

Hoggs sold to £85 per head for 9 Chev scaling 50kgs from H Gray, Drumwhindle Mains, Ellon and 187.5p per kilo (2) firstly for a pen of 33 Chev scaling 41kgs realising £77 from Drumwhindle Mains and for a pair of Tex scaling 40kgs realising £75 from James Gracey, Tehilliah , Mathlick. To average 157.8p.

At their weekly Sale John Swan Ltd had forward 5 Spring Lambs, 1608 Hoggs and 104 Ewes. Hoggs a poor show for quality with many lean sheep forward met a well increased trade on the week and were very easy sold. Spring Lambs sold to £80 per head for a Char scaling 45kg. Top price per kilo of 185.4p per kilo for the same animal from Mr Howard Davies, Hillhead Cannahars, Whitecairns, Aberdeen. Hoggs sold to 166.2p per kilo for a pen of 15 Tex scaling 40kg from James Gracey, Tehilliah, Methlick and to £77 for a pair of Tex scaling 50 kg from the same home.

At their Special Sale of Store Cattle John Swan Ltd sold 203 head. With a mixed show for quality, cattle again sold at a higher level with quality animals selling at a real premium price. With plenty buyers many more could have been sold.
